The foundation of prolific music may have been laid out with “old favorites,” but the praiseworthy determination and metal-infused pop-punk bliss that has hailed from Fargo, North Dakota has given the legends a run for their money. Composed of five extraordinarily consistent musicians, THESE HEARTS has given pop music a much-needed shove by providing a remarkable range of rock-flavored melodies in their latest release, Forever Ended Yesterday.
The pop-punk/hardcore quintet have paved the way to uphold their unique niche in previously uncharted territory by embracing a genuine grasp of what it means to radiate positivity through music. In what is composed of one of the most easily approachable groups around, THESE HEARTS is never seen without the passionate spirit and uplifting quality which has set them apart from the rest, to which they credit faith as playing an essential role.
As is with many things in life, the band’s journey has not always been a simple one. THESE HEARTS relies on their Christian upbringing and ever-present faith to sweep them through unavoidable bumps in the road. With their Victory Records debut, the band has more than expressed a desire to create a record of purpose, which is certainly delivered in their Craig Owens-produced new album, Forever Ended Yesterday, out now.
Formed in 2007, it took no time for the group to quickly establish a name for themselves in the upper Midwest. Consisting of Ryan Saunders on vocals, Isaiah Folk on drums, Kyle Colby and Daryl Van Beek both on guitars and Tyler Rice on bass, the band wasted no time in recording and then releasing the wildly successful self-produced EP, Mistakes And Second Takes, in 2008 which sold over 3,000 copies. THESE HEARTS boldly took off to the road immediately, giving some insight into the band’s dedication to their craft.
Coupling addictive hooks that will instantly have you singing along with an effortless flair for weaving gritty heaviness in all the right places, Forever Ended Yesterday is an unstoppable force by way of a new approach to pop. Their upbeat sound is perfectly coupled with crippling breakdowns that emulate such greats as A DAY TO REMEMBER. Kicking off with the standout track “Apology Rejected,” the album is packed full of what can only be pinpointed as an angst-filled, roller coaster ride of dangerously infectious songs in a promising collection of new favorites to rock fans everywhere. Rounding off the album is the acoustic track “Thinking In Terms Of Two” – a charming addition showcasing the group’s musical talent as a beautifully played out bonus to the record.
With a strew of renowned festivals lined up for a packed summer of music (Sonshine, Cornerstone), tour dates across the U.S., and an unmistakable, larger than life presence heavily rooted from an eagerness to inspire,
THESE HEARTS fearlessly trek ahead of the
rest.
